     The CXSU63034 is a highly efficient fix frequencysynchronous step-upash嘉泰姆
DC/DC converter. Output voltage of the device is adjustable. Powerash嘉泰姆
dissipation during operation is only 40μA typical and drops to less thanash嘉泰姆
1μA in shutdown. The 0.85V to 5V input voltage range makes the CXSU63034ash嘉泰姆
ideally suitable for single cell Li-ion battery, single or dual AA battery voltageash嘉泰姆
step-up applications. Automatic PFM Mode operation increases efficiency atash嘉泰姆
light loads, further extend battery life. Switching frequency is internally set at 1.2MHz, design for use of small value surface mount inductor, input andash嘉泰姆
output capacitors. The internal synchronous switchesenhance efficiency.ash嘉泰姆
Anti-ringing control circuitry reduces EMI by damping the inductance effectash嘉泰姆
in DCM mode. The CXSU63034 is available in SOT23-6 package.ash嘉泰姆

1)General Descriptionash嘉泰姆
The CXSU63034 is a synchronous step-up DC-DC converter.ash嘉泰姆
It utilizes internal MOSFET switches to achieve highash嘉泰姆
efficiency over full load current range. It operates at aash嘉泰姆
fixed switching frequency of 1.2MHz, and uses theash嘉泰姆
slope compensated peak current mode pulse widthash嘉泰姆
modulation (PWM) architecture. The device canash嘉泰姆
operate with an input voltage below 1V and theash嘉泰姆
minimum start-up voltage is 0.85V.ash嘉泰姆
2) Current Mode Operation ash嘉泰姆
The CXSU63034 is based on a slope compensated peakash嘉泰姆
current mode PWM control topology. It operates at aash嘉泰姆
fixed frequency of 1.2MHz. At the beginning of eachash嘉泰姆
clock cycle, the main switch (NMOS) is turned on andash嘉泰姆
the inductor current starts to ramp. After the maximumash嘉泰姆
duty cycle or the sense current signal equals the errorash嘉泰姆
amplifier output, the main switch is turned off and theash嘉泰姆
synchronous switch (PMOS) is turned on. This controlash嘉泰姆
topology features cycle-by-cycle current limiting whichash嘉泰姆
can prevent the main switch from overstress and theash嘉泰姆
external inductor from saturating.ash嘉泰姆
3) Synchronous Rectification ash嘉泰姆
The CXSU63034 integrates a synchronous rectifier toash嘉泰姆
improve efficiency as well as to eliminate the need forash嘉泰姆
an external Schottky diode. The synchronous rectifier isash嘉泰姆
used to reduce the loss condition contributed by theash嘉泰姆
forward voltage of an external Schottky diode. Theash嘉泰姆
synchronous rectifier is realized by a P-channel MOSash嘉泰姆
(PMOS) with gate control circuitry that incorporatesash嘉泰姆
