The APL3200 ,APL3201 .APL3202, APL3207 charges a single-cell Li+ battery from bothphB嘉泰姆

USB and AC adapter sources. It also includes battery-phB嘉泰姆

to-input power switchover, therefore, the system can bephB嘉泰姆

powered directly from the power source rather than fromphB嘉泰姆

the battery.phB嘉泰姆

In its simplest application, the APL3200 doesn’t needphB嘉泰姆

external MOSFET or diodes and accepts input voltagesphB嘉泰姆

up to 6.5V; however, DC input over-voltage protection upphB嘉泰姆

to 18V can be added with a single SOT PFET.phB嘉泰姆

On-chip thermal limiting simplifies PC board layout andphB嘉泰姆

allows optimum charging rate without the thermalphB嘉泰姆

limits imposed by worst-case battery and input voltage.phB嘉泰姆

When the APL3200 thermal limit is reached, the chargerphB嘉泰姆

does not shut down but simply reduces charging current.phB嘉泰姆

Ambient or battery temperature can be monitored withphB嘉泰姆
