The CXLB7388X series are highly integrated single cellmQn嘉泰姆

Li-Ion/Polymer battery charger IC designed for handheldmQn嘉泰姆

devices. The CXLB7388X accepts two power inputs,mQn嘉泰姆

normally one from a USB port and another one frommQn嘉泰姆

AC-adaptor. The CXLB7388X automatically selects themQn嘉泰姆

USB-Port or the AC-adapter as the power source for themQn嘉泰姆

system. In the USB configuration, the host can select frommQn嘉泰姆

the two preset charge rates of 100 mA and 500 mA. In themQn嘉泰姆

AC−adapter configuration an external resistor sets themQn嘉泰姆

magnitude of the charge current, which may bemQn嘉泰姆

programmed up to 1A.mQn嘉泰姆

The CXLB7388X charges the battery in three phases:mQn嘉泰姆

conditioning, constant current, and constant voltage.mQn嘉泰姆

Charge is terminated based on minimum current. AnmQn嘉泰姆

internal charge timer provides a backup safety for chargemQn嘉泰姆

termination. The CXLB7388X automatically re-starts themQn嘉泰姆

charge if the battery voltage falls below an internalmQn嘉泰姆

threshold. The CXLB7388X also automatically enters sleepmQn嘉泰姆

mode when both supplies are removed. No external sensemQn嘉泰姆

resistor or blocking diode is required for charging.mQn嘉泰姆

The CXLB7388X integrates internal power FET , currentmQn嘉泰姆

sensor, charge status and reverse current protection in amQn嘉泰姆

single monolithic devices.mQn嘉泰姆
