The CXLB7388X series are highly integrated single cellChI嘉泰姆

Li-Ion/Polymer battery charger IC designed for handheldChI嘉泰姆

devices. The CXLB7388X accepts two power inputs,ChI嘉泰姆

normally one from a USB port and another one fromChI嘉泰姆

AC-adaptor. The CXLB7388X automatically selects theChI嘉泰姆

USB-Port or the AC-adapter as the power source for theChI嘉泰姆

system. In the USB configuration, the host can select fromChI嘉泰姆

the two preset charge rates of 100 mA and 500 mA. In theChI嘉泰姆

AC−adapter configuration an external resistor sets theChI嘉泰姆

magnitude of the charge current, which may beChI嘉泰姆

programmed up to 1A.ChI嘉泰姆

The CXLB7388X charges the battery in three phases:ChI嘉泰姆

conditioning, constant current, and constant voltage.ChI嘉泰姆

Charge is terminated based on minimum current. AnChI嘉泰姆

internal charge timer provides a backup safety for chargeChI嘉泰姆

termination. The CXLB7388X automatically re-starts theChI嘉泰姆

charge if the battery voltage falls below an internalChI嘉泰姆

threshold. The CXLB7388X also automatically enters sleepChI嘉泰姆

mode when both supplies are removed. No external senseChI嘉泰姆

resistor or blocking diode is required for charging.ChI嘉泰姆

The CXLB7388X integrates internal power FET , currentChI嘉泰姆

sensor, charge status and reverse current protection in aChI嘉泰姆

single monolithic devices.ChI嘉泰姆
